There was a burglary at the SAFA Capricorn Region offices in Limpopo in the early hours of Monday morning.
The criminals broke into the offices in Polokwane and stole computers, a fridge, as well as sports equipment meant for football development within the region.
SAFA Capricorn Region leader Abel Rakoma has told FARPost that he found the office literally open upon his arrival after being contacted by the Police.
“I received a call from the Police here in Polokwane that they managed to get into contact with a person who was in possession of some soccer attires and some of the computer equipment” said Rakoma.
“They then called me to check if those particular items belong to us and indeed those items belong to us. We then went to the office, yoh, all the doors were literally opened, and the items were all over the offices you could see that the talkies, balls and everything was taken. I also know that there was a fridge in this particular office but it is no longer there and number of items are stolen and it’s a course of concern” he said.
A case has been opened with the South African Police Service in Polokwane and a female suspect has already been summoned for questioning.
Rakoma was recently ‘reinstated’ as the chairperson of the region by the Polokwane High court following political squabbles with the LFA’s for the past 2 years.
