Confederation of African Football (CAF) have revealed a glimpse of their new strategy to market and promote women’s football on the continent with the slogan, ‘Its Time Its Now’.
CAF have made a commitment towards developing women’s football in Africa and their objectives and actions from their new strategy, includes creating a strong and unifying women’s football brands.
Their marketing and promotion strategy also consists of creating dedicated commercial and communication strategies to leverage and market the new brands. Develop and implement a brand strategy that clearly distinguishes women’s football.
Building and growing dedicated digital platforms to promote the women’s game.
At the 2019 France FIFA Women’s World Cup, the continent had three nations representing Africa with dignity. Banyana Banyana, who qualified for their first ever World Cup, Nigeria, and Cameroon.
For the first time, two teams from Africa, Nigeria – Super Falcons, reigning African champions and Cameroon qualified from the World Cup group stages to reach the round of 16.
In the current FIFA World Rankings, Nigeria are the highest rank African team in 38 place, followed by Cameroon and South Africa in 51st and 53rd position respectively.
