Cape Town City appoint new coach

Cape Town City have brought in a new coach to replace Benni McCarthy.

The club confirmed this afternoon that Jan Olde Riekerink has taken over from the former Bafana Bafana striker.

Cavin Johnson and Muhsin Ertugral had according to our sources been considered for the job, but the Dutchman, Olde Riekerink, has emerged as the preferred option.

Olde Riekerink has previousl worked at clubs such as Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam and he was at Heerenveen until recently.

In fact, Olde Riekerink says, in the video above, that he coached Steven Pienaar and McCarthy at Ajax Amsterdam.
