It will be a battle of Western Cape versus KwaZulu Natal in a Dstv Premiership clash today between Cape Town City and Maritzburg United at Cape Town Stadium t (17:00).
The two sides have contrasting missions to accomplish going to the match, with the KZN side looking to move away from the relegation zone, while the team from the Mother City look to consolidate a place in the top eight.
The Citizens dropped to seventh on the log, after managing only one point from the possible nine, in their three previous matches.
The Team of Choice haven’t been consistent either, with two victories in their last five matches, including a defeat against fellow strugglers TTM.
Diego Peral, who is City’s interim coach will look to reignite the form the team once had, with some great combinations of Thabo Nodada, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Surprise Ralani.
Meanwhile, Ernst Middendorp will bank on the deadly combination of Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Thabiso Kutumela, who have wrecked havoc for opposition teams.
A win for either team will be vital as the season draws towards to the end. Both sets of players will be up for a feisty duel, after dropping points from previous encounters.
