GladAfrica Championship side Cape Umoya are looking to sign experienced and former Cape Town City midfielder, Mark Mayambela.
FARPost has been told that the Cape side was preparing to invite the well travelled midfielder to train with the team, before the country announced the national #LockDown due to the spread of the COVID-19.
“Management were already talking about bringing him into the team, but this lockdown has delayed quite a lot of things. I know they want him, once things are back to normal they will invite him,” said our source at the club.
The 32-year-old Khayelitsha born and former Djurgardens IF midfielder was on the books of Cape Town City at the begining of the 2019/20 season and made 5 appearances for the “Citizens” before parting ways with the club in January.
“I don’t think anyone is interested in that at the moment. I mean, the whole country is faced with this epidemic virus, everybody is trying hard to fight this corona virus and not where I will be going next.
“I think we should wait until everything is back to normal, then give me a call and we will talk,” said Mayambela when contacted for comment about his next move.
