Cape United’s relocation to Limpopo as good as done

The number of clubs from Limpopo in the GladAfrica Championship next season will increase from two to three, pending the finalisation of a deal to purchase Cape United by new owners from the Province.

FARPost has gathered that businessman and owner of ABC Motsepe League side Venda Football Academy (VFA), Robinson Ramaite, has reached an agreement to buy the first division status of the Cape Town based side.

A source has informed this publication that both parties have agreed on a deal but await ratification from the Premier Soccer League executive committee.

The league is set to meet this week for a final decision.

The club is set to be based in the Vhembe district and play their home matches at Thohoyandou Stadium with the Giyani and Old Peter Mokaba Stadiums as alternative venues.

Ramaite was on the verge of purchasing the status of Cape Town All Stars recently but the deal collapsed at the last minute.

FARPost has reached out to the management of VFA since last week for a comment on the latest developments without success.
