Kaizer Chiefs forward Leonardo Castro has revealed that the team is in a confident mood ahead of the Caf Champions League clash with Horoya Athletic Club.
Amakhosi will take on the Guinean side at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday with the kick-off set for 18:00 in the evening.
The Soweto giants have been inconsistent since the beginning of the 2020/21 season, as shown in their last four matches – losing three games in a row before playing to a 1-all draw at home to SuperSport United over the weekend.
However, Castro believes that their weekend encounter will give his side sufficient momentum going into the match against Horoya despite the draw.
“We played on Saturday, we have been recovering over the past two days. We will now see what we need to do and how we need to play against Horoya. We know that the games in the Champions League are very tough, especially in the group stages,” the Colombian international told the media.
“I think it’s good to get an early goal as we know that if we score early, the chances of us getting the three points are very high.”
The 31-year-old frontman insists that the Glamour Boys must dominate the game because they are playing at home.
“It’s very important to start in the right way. We need to make our home games count and aim for a minimum of one point in away matches. We all know that it’s tough when you play away against them,” he adds.
“We are facing teams with a different kind of structure and we all know they have different physical attributes and it will be interesting in our group.”
