In the past 5-6 years South Africa has seen the rise of so many players overseas who were born outside of the country to South African parents.
Or there are players who left the country at a very young age to relocate to European countries and Sylian Mokono is one of those players.
The defender being born in Netherlands to South African parents.
Sylian Mokono is a 20-year-old right back who has been going through the ranks at Dutch top division club FC Utrecht where he currently plays for their B team Jong Utrecht.
Mokono was promoted to the first team of the Dutch club for the new season but he had an injury setback at the end of the last season which dealt him a major blow.
The big, tall and strong right back is back playing again having featured in all of Utrecht’s games this season off the bench so far but he will be hoping that he regains full fitness and gets back to make his first team debut soon.
