Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has chosen to appoint South African compatriot Cavin Johnson as his assistant coach.
Mosimane signed a two-year deal with the Egyptian giants and won his first game in charge on Sunday against Mokawloon in the Egyptian Premier League.
Johnson, who was previously with AmaZulu, SuperSport United and Platinum Stars, completes Mosimane’s technical team in Cairo as fitness and conditioning trainer Kabelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba followed Mosimane.
“It’s an honour to be joining one of the most successful South African coaches to coach the most successful club in Africa,” said Johnson in a statement.
“I just want to thank coach Pitso for giving me the opportunity to work with this club of the century.”
