Celtic players to watch v Pirates

Bloemfontein Celtic may be the underdogs for their MTN8 Final clash against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium this evening (18:00).

But write off Phunya Sele Sele at your peril.

Celtic have some firepower and Pirates should be careful. FARPost‘s Tiyani wa ka Mabasa looks at three Celtic players who may cause the Buccaneers a lot of problems.

Victor Letsoalo

The focus has more often than not been on captain Ndumiso Mabena and rightly so, because he’s been leading by example. However, Letsoalo has also caught some eye with some fine performances.

He has a knack of scoring goals and he’ll play a big role. Last season’s Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament will be relishing the opportunity to show his quality once again.

Ndumiso Mabena

He’s come of age. The leader of the Siwelele gang has been brilliant for Celtic over the past few seasons and continues to shine. Mabena’s goal against SuperSport United in the last four showed a player who’s calm in situations and mature. There was no rush as he beat Ronwen Williams at the near post and again, Celtic will be looking to him to deliver the goods.

Siphelele Luthuli

Luthuli remains a key figure in Celtic’s midfield and often delivers. Pirates also have their own men with the likes of Ben Motshwari capable of dictating terms in the centre of the park, but Luthuli is also just as capable in the green and white colours of Celtic.
