Harris Tchilimbou struck a last-gasp winner as Bloemfontein Celtic clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory against Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 clash at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday evening.
With the win, Celtic booked their spot in the quarterfinal.
Maritzburg took the led in the 17th minute through Thabiso Kutumela (pen) but Celtic replied 5 minutes later with an equaliser from Tumelo Njoti.
Celtic went in front thanks to a 62 minute strike by Maloisane Ramasimong.
The home side protected their 1 goal lead up until Kwanda Mngonyama came out of nowhere to give the ‘Team of Choice’ a lifeline.
However, Tchilimbou had other ideas as he scored deep in stoppage time to knockout Maritzburg.
“We made too many errors tonight and you can’t do that against a good attacking team like Celtic, you will get punished and that’s precisely what happened, “admitted Eric Tinkler.
