Chelsea have made their first signing since their transfer ban was lifted when they sealed a deal with 16-year-old Bryan Fiabema after making an impression on trial.
Fiabema joining from Tromso will make his move to Chelsea in Janury but will join the Chelsea academy rather than Frank Lampard’s first team squad. He will work with academy coaches in Andy Myers and Ed Brand.
The talented teenager is a striker and has already made his debut for the Norwegian side in July. He has also featured for the Norway Under -15, Under 16 and Under 17 sides finding the back of the net at all three levels.
Lampard wants to make more signings in January but said the west London side might not go on a spending splurge.
“I think you’ve got to be careful about being too reactionary – ban lifted and defeat to Everton – it’s quite easy to come to that conclusion [spending big in January].”
