Kaizer Chiefs today revealed that they have allowed the players that have been training with the club with an intention to sign, to move on to teams of their ‘choice’.
It has been reported that players such as Phathutshedzo Nange, Sifiso Hlanti and Brandon Petersen were all training with Amakhosi, while the club awaited the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) appeal ruling.
CAS has since dismissed Chiefs’ appeal meaning the two transfer window period ban of registering players’ stands.
“Due to the CAS outcome we can only sign players from July 2021,” the club said in a statement on Monday.
“As a result, the players that were training with the team will be leaving to join teams of their choice,” read the short statement.
Chiefs were banned by the FIFA DRC for entering into a contract with Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana while he was still under contract with Fosa Juniors FC from Madagascar.
While Chiefs still have to serve the sanction for two entire and consecutive registration periods, ‘Dax’ who has since moved to Black Leopards has already served his four-month ban.
