Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung says the club is satisfied with their January transfer window business.
Speaking on the club’s official website, ‘BobSteak’ pointed out the fact that Amakhosi brought in Kenyan midfielder, Anthony Akumu on a three-and-a-half-year deal to strengthen their side.
“We had a few players being released and we brought in Anthony Akumu Agay. We are happy with the business that we conducted, and we feel that the players we released will benefit as they will gain valuable playing time at their new clubs,” he says.
Chiefs parted ways with Ghanaian midfielder James Kotei, who left without playing an official match and has since joined Belarusian side, Salvia Mozyr.
Kabelo Mahlasela and Sizwe Twala moved to Polokwane City and Swallows FC respectively, while Lorenzo Gordinho was snapped up by Bidvest Wits.
Meanwhile, the trio of Bernard Parker, Willard Katsande and Daniel Akpeyi signed one year extensions.
Chiefs also confirmed that they have taken up their one-year option on Daniel Cardoso’s contract, which means his contract with the club will now expire on 30 June 2021.
“We are addressing other contracts. As we did in the past week, we will give an update when the time is right,” Motaung added.
The other players whose contracts expire on June 30 this year are George Maluleka and Leonardo Castro.
