Kaizer Chiefs have announced the promotion of their Youth Development Academy product Sabelo Radebe to the first team.
The Soweto-born midfielder played in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) and has been an influential member of the Amakhosi reserve side.
Chiefs’ youth set up has produced a number of top class players who went on to shine for the Soweto giants in the South African football top-flight; talking about the likes of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Njabulo Blom and Happy Mashiane.
The club stated that the 21-year-old was invited two weeks ago to train with the senior team, as his talent and commitment convinced coach Gavin Hunt to bring him on board.
Radebe joined the Glamour Boys juniors in 2017, and he is ranked among the top players in the DDC.
Amakhosi describes the youngster as a player who possesses a knack of scoring goals and showing glimpses of brilliance.
The promising midfielder is said to be part of the 20-man squad that will be selected for the Nedbank Cup match against Richards Bay on Sunday at FNB Stadium.
“With the reserve league still on hold, the players will focus on their senior team duties. They can be recalled to the junior side where necessary as soon as the DDC resumes,” said Chiefs in a statement.
