Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to allow four of their players Given Thibedi, Sizwe Twala, Ayanda Rorwana and Itumeleng Shopane to remain on loan at Swallows for the upcoming Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
The new campaign will kick off on 17 October with the MTN8 quarterfinals encounters and the league will get underway on Saturday, 24 October with Swallows set to end their five-year absence from the Premiership.
Thibedi, in particular, played an instrumental role in helping Swallows secure promotion to the top-flight league, calling the shots in the middle of the park throughout the season in the second-tier league with four goals to his name.
Veteran defender Vuyo Mere once said Thibedi is way ahead of his peers when it comes to football brains, describing the youngster as a “workaholic and level-headed.”
The 23-year-old along with striker Twala, midfielder Rorwana and forward Shopane, will enjoy the fruits of their labour by campaigning in the DStv Premiership this coming season under the guidance of local coach Brandon Truter, who has been retained by Swallows.
The quartet are the youth graduates of ‘Amakhosi’, nurtured in Naturena by newly appointed first-team assistant coach Arthur Zwane.
The Soweto club also announced the signing of goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni on a three-year deal from TS Galaxy.
