Baroka number one goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze has vowed to the Bakgaga faithful that they are going to fight with all they have when they take on SuperSport United in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinal match tonight (8.15pm).

The defending champions head into the match against an in-form Matsatsantsa side that recently won the 2019 MTN8.

The 29-year-old who was voted the 2018 Telekom Knockout player of the Tournament says they go into the match knowing that to be the best you need to go past the best first.

“We are the defending champions, so we have to defend what is ours because we are doing this for the Limpopo people, so we are going out there to fight, it’s as simple as that. Like I have always said in the past, in order for you to be the best you have to beat the best” He said.

The Zimbabwean international also reminisced on the historic final beating Orlando Pirates at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium that Baroka won on penalties.

“It was one of the greatest feelings, it was my first season at the club and helping bring a cup for the first time in the club’s history was also special.

“I would like to help the team bring back the cup again. But we have to take each game at a time. We are playing against the MTN 8 champions, we respect them but its 11v11 and a new ball game now”
