Chippa United moved closer to safety from relegation in the Absa Premiership following a 1-0 win against fellow strugglers Baroka at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday evening.
A 7th minute goal from Nigerian striker Augustine Kwem was enough for the ‘Chilli’ Boys’ to reach the 30 points mark with three matches remaining.
Although they are not yet safe from facing the chop, United certainly have an upper hand compared to other teams at the bottom five.
‘Bakgaga’ on the other hand remain third from bottom with 25 points, a point above Polokwane City and AmaZulu who are 15th and 16th respectively.
Baroka will face Mamelodi Sundowns next, before they take on SuperSport United and wrap up their league campaign with a match against Kaizer Chiefs.
Chippa’s last three matches will be up against Stellenbosch, Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows.
