With only three matches remaining before the conclusion of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign, Chippa United announced the promotion of Xabiso Soldaat from the club’s Diski Challenge side.
Soldaat, 20, hails from Greenbushes in Port Elizabeth. He joined the’ Chilli Boys’ Multichoice Diski Challenge team in 2019 from ABC Motsepe League outfit Highbury FC.
The Port Elizabeth based club took to social media on Thursday to unveil the exciting youngster, affectionately known by his peers as ‘Messi’.
Chippa joins a good number of PSL sides that have promoted some of their youngsters since the resumption of football. Some of the clubs include Stellenbosch, Cape Town City, Baroka and Bidvest Wits.
“He has been an integral part of our MultiChoice Diski Challenge team showing great display of maturity beyond his years. We wish him well. ‘The Chilli Boys’ of tomorrow belongs to the young,” said Chippa in a statement.
Chippa are 12th on the Absa Premiership log standings and they will play their last three league matches against Stellenboshc FC, Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows with the young Soldaat expected to make his debut in South Africa’s top flight.
