Villareal have given an update on Samuel Chukwueze’s surgery.

“Both footballers’ recovery time will depend on how they progress.”
Since joining the Spanish club from the Diamond football academy in 2018, the 21-year-old has racked up more than 100 senior team appearances across all competitions.
In the 2020/21 campaign he has played 17 league games scoring once and assisting two goals.
Last month, Chukwueze broke the record for the youngest footballer to reach 100 appearances in the history of the club, a record that was previously held by Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio.
Coach Unai Emery will be crossing fingers for the attacker’s quick recovery as he continues to lead his charges in their ambitions of winning the Spanish title. They currently sit in fifth position on the table with 35 points from 21 league games – 15 points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.
Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr will also be worried with Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers nearing in March and the Villareal talisman has been a big part of the German mentor’s plans since he took over the reigns.
