Maritzburg United midfielder Daylon Claasen is anticipating a tough battle against Golden Arrows but insists it will be important not to repeat some of the mistakes made in recent matches.
The Team of Choice will take on Abafana Bes’thende in a KwaZulu-Natal DStv Premiership derby on Saturday at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Maritzburg come into this game aiming to return to their winning ways after a disappointing 1-0 defeat in the hands of Orlando Pirates this past weekend at Harry Gwala Stadium.
Meanwhile, Arrows suffered their first loss of the season in the hands of Cape Town City last Sunday, with a 4-2 final score.
“In soccer, one can do nothing but just keep on working hard and giving your best in training,” says Claasen.
“We are trying our best in training to rectify our mistakes and take it into the game against Golden Arrows.”
He further said that it’s not just about having the right game-plan, but the implementation of that plan and also being able to make the correct decisions in the heat of the moment.
“I expect it to be a difficult game, especially as it’s two teams from KZN. I expect a competitive match,” adds the 31-year-old right winger.
“The coach has his tactics and his game-plan. But one can only prepare so much – on the day you need to adjust and adapt accordingly to win the game.”
The game will start at 17:00 in the afternoon.
