Absa Premiership side Cape Town City have announced that all players and staff members have tested negative for COVID-19 in the first round of testing.
Premier Soccer League clubs have started with the testing of players and staff as they prepare for the long-awaited return of football in South Africa.
“Cape Town City can confirm that the first round of PSL coronavirus testing has produced 0 positive cases amongst the club’s PSL players. There are also 0 positive cases amongst the entire technical staff,” announced the club on their official twitter platform.
Swallows were the latest club to announce that three players have tested positive for coronavirus bringing the total number of PSL players and officials who have tested positive to 13 with 1 recovery.
Clubs with confirmed cases: Kaizer Chiefs (2), Stellenbosch (3), Swallows (3), TS Galaxy (3), Bloemfontein Celtic (1), Swallows (3) and Orlando Pirates (1-recovered).
