The Premier Soccer League will today hold an urgent meeting to decide on the way forward following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement that gatherings of 100 people or more are immediately cancelled.
This is due to the outbreak of the disease, Coronavirus.
“The PSL, the largest event organiser in South Africa, in its response to the State President’s announcement that gatherings of more than 100 people be prohibited will be holding an urgent meeting of its Executive Committee on Monday, 16 March 2020 at 12h00 noon after which a press conference will be held to announce the details of its programme going forward,” said the League in a statement.
The League could be suspended until further notice and the other option may be to play games behind closed doors, with no spectators.
