COVID-19 to give Dax a lifeline

Black Leopards midfielder Andriamirado Andrianarimanana is still hopeful he might play this season if the Absa Premiership season goes beyond May.

The Madagascar international popularly known as ‘Dax’, was banned by football governing body FIFA for four months in February 2020, following his move from Fosa Juniors to Kaizer Chiefs.

The player is accused of having signed for Amakhosi while still contracted to the Malagasy side back in 2018. Juniors won the case after taking the matter to FIFA and the South African club was banned from registering players in the next two transfer windows.

Both parties have appealed.

Speaking to FARPost today, Dax admitted in not so many words that the current football break due to coronavirus came at the right time.

“I’m currently staying at home, training slow,” he said.

“Yes, boss after two months, finish the problem. Yes, I play (after two months). After two months I come back for playing, after two months. It’s Jesus who gave me this not corona, Jesus. Ja Jesus gave me.”
