SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan believes it’s only a matter of time before Bafana Bafana senior coach Molefi Ntseki wins over the hearts of football fans.
Ntseki has been on the receiving end from unhappy football fans on various social media platforms following a poor display against Namibia and Zambia in the recent friendly matches.
But Jordaan insists that fans will start to appreciate Ntseki if he bring results in the upcoming Africa Cup of nations qualifiers against São Tomé and Príncipe.
“It’s a life of coaches in this country, you have seen all coaches go through that (criticism),” said Jordaan.
“There was a stage where they had to defend Pitso (Mosimane) and then he became a hero. Let Ntseki beat Sao Tome home and away and let him qualify (for Afcon) and then they will be happy again.
“This is the life and relationship between fans and coaches. It’s a very difficult relationship and I think Ntseki is aware of that,” he said.
Bafana Bafana will host the Central African country on Friday, 13 November at FNB Stadium and travel to the Estadio Nacional 12 de Julho three days later.
South Africa are currently second in Group C of the qualifiers behind leaders Ghana, while São Tomé are bottom of the group with two defeats in two matches.
