After completing his move to English Premier League side Newcastle United, South African midfielder Bradley Cross made his first appearance for the English club coming on as a second half substitute against Fulham in the English Premier League 2.
Newcastle won the game 2-1 with the Amajita defender being brought on to close the shop in the dying minutes of the game.
The 19-year-old is now in his third year in Europe having previously played for German side Schalke while on loan from Bidvest Wits for the past two years.
Cross made over 30 appearances for Schalke’s U-19 side and was promoted to the first team before opting to move elsewhere as he seeks to start playing first team football.
The left-footed centre back is a rare find for Newcastle whose coach expressed delight about acquiring his services touting him as one for the future.
On Friday the Young Magpies take on West Brom and the now-defunct Mpumalanga Black Aces product will be looking at making his second appearances for the club.
