Cape Town City have continued to strengthen their squad with the acquisition of Zambian international winger Charles Zulu from Super League giants Zanaco.
Zulu joins Ghanaian international striker Prince Opoku Agyemang, Taahir Goedeman who has been promoted to the CT City first team, goalkeeper Reid Bombay, 21-year-old midfielder Sanele Gaxa, Terrence Mashego, who plays as a left-back and Aubrey Ngoma.
All these players were unveiled by the club recently much to the delight of the CT City fans.
According to the club’s statement released on Friday morning, Zulu put pen to paper after he agreed to a four-year deal.
“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the acquisition of Zambian international winger Charles Zulu. City and Zanaco have reached a transfer agreement, which sees Zulu sign a four-year deal till June 2024,” the statement reads.
The 24-year-old winger made his Chipolopolo debut as an 18-year-old back in 2014. While in the colours of Zanaco, Zulu netted one goal and registered two assists in 12 matches during the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup. He has also gained experience in the CAF Championship with the Zambian club.
The Citizens kick off their 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign on Saturday against Chippa United as the Cape Town-based outfit look to build on their impressive second half performance of last term in the bio bubble.
The encounter will be played at the Cape Town Stadium at 18:00 behind closed doors amid Covid-19.
