As reported by FARPost late last month, Cape Town City have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper, Darren Keet.
‘The Citizens’ made the announcement in a video presentation on their socials on Monday morning.
Keet joins the side from Cape Umoya United in the GladAfrica Championship.
The 31-year-old goalie made his Premier Soccer League (PSL) debut with the now defunct Bidvest Wits in 2008, going on to establish himself as the club’s number one goalkeeper making 139 appearances across all competitions for ‘The Cleaver Boys’ until he signed for Belgian club KV Kortrijk in June 2011 on a four-year contract.
The shot-stopper also had a stint with another Belgian outfit, Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
“Looking at my future plans, Cape Town was the good place to start and obviously the opportunity arosed. I wanted to be part of something big and extra special,” said the Bafana Bafana international.
“Since I was young, the one and only thing I wanted to achieve was to be the best goalkeeper in South Africa. I have had the experience of winning the PSL before, I definitely want more. I’m not coming here to settle for anything less.”
