Cape Town City will host Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership match at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday (15:30).
‘The Citizens’ are undefeated in their last four matches in Cape Town against the Soweto giants.
The two sides returned identical results from their most recent matches – both playing to 1-1 stalemates. Pirates came from behind to earn a point against Baroka FC, while AmaZulu held the CT City in Durban.
Only a single point separates Pirates and CT City with the latter in sixth place while the Buccaneers are third. Both teams have collected two wins from their opening five league matches.
The Cape Town-based side suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last outing against Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-final at Orlando Stadium in the season-opener.
CT City players to keep an eye on
Lakay has netted once and registered one assist so far this season.
Ever since Kermit Erasmus left CT City to join Mamelodi Sundowns, Lakay is the go-to man for goals and is becoming an important player for the club.
The highly-rated striker will be looking to inspire CT City to a win over Pirates.
The Ghanaian hitman is high on confidence at the moment after scoring his debut goal for the ‘Citizens’ against AmaZulu last Saturday.
Agyemang also produced a fine performance when CT City defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 4-2 in what was his first start. He has played a pivotal role alongside Lakay upfront and is one player capable of causing trouble for the Pirates’ defence.
He will be eager to find the back of the net against the Buccaneers.
Nodada is an obvious pick. The Bafana Bafana midfielder has had a promising start to the 2020/21 season having scored two goals in five league appearances for CT City.
No doubt, the forever hard working and talented midfielder will command attention from the Bucs defence.
His brilliant performances over the last few seasons have earned him a couple of Bafana caps. Nodada will certainly have his tail up on Saturday afternoon against Pirates.
