Patson Daka is pleased to have won another Austrian Bundesliga title with RB Salzburg.
The giants were officially crowned champions on Wednesday evening after beating Rapid Wien 2-0 to open a 12-point gap at the top of the log with two games left.
Salzburg sit at the top of the table with 45 points from 30 games while Wien have 33 points from the same number of games.
This is Salzburg’s eighth consecutive title as they continue their dominance on the domestic front.
Daka has been nominated for the Player of the Season accolade after netting 26 goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances this season. It’s been an incredible journey for the striker as he reaches double digits for a third season running.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 22-year-old said winning the league is a massive achievement for the club.
“We have loads of quality, also as individuals, and we work really well together. We are an incredible team.
“Everyone works for each other and we all support one another. It means so much to me, but it’s not only about me.
“It means so much to the club. I am just incredibly grateful and pleased that I was able to help the team to have such a good season. I am just really happy to be here.”
Enock Mwepu was an ever-present figure in the middle of the park playing 27 league games and scoring four goals.
Karim Adeyemi also played 27 games and found the back of the net five times this season. The teenager was mostly used as a second half substitute as Salzburg prepares him to take over from Daka in the near future.
