Orlando Pirates forwards Thembinkosi Lorch and Terrence Dzvukamanja gave Buccaneer supporters a scare on Wednesday night when they were forced out of their league match against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Lorch was taken off in the first 15 minutes of the match, while Dzvukamanja was replaced 14 minutes into the second stanza of the 1-0 win at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
With Pirates set to take on Kaizer Chiefs in the second leg of the MTN 8 semi-finals on Sunday, Pirates will be hoping for a speedy recovery for both players.
“It is not good for both players,” interim coach, Fadlu Davids told the media after the match.
“Dzvukamanja looks like a head injury. Lorch similar with his knee, to go early in the first half it is still too early to tell. We don’t know, we will get the report, I am sure we will get the scan (on Thursday) and then we will assess what is the next step,” said Davids.
Pirates had to do without Gabadinho Mhango, Thabiso Monyane, Bongani Sam, Tshegofatso Mabasa and Nkanyiso Zungu who are all still receiving treatment for their respective injuries.
