Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies goalkeeper Andile Dlamini is in a confident mood ahead of the SAFA National Women’s League (SNWL) clash against the University of Western Cape (UWC) women’s team at Lucas Moripe Stadium this afternoon.
The game will start at 15:00.
The unstoppable fantastic Tshwane-based outfit aims to continue with their incredible winning run in the SNWL, as shown in their last two matches – an impressive 4-0 home win against Golden Ladies followed by another 3-1 victory over Durban Ladies.
Sundowns Ladies, JVW Ladies and First Touch FC are now level on points in the SNWL log standings with six points from two outings, with goal difference separating the three teams.
The defending champions skipper believes their fine unbeaten run record will give them sufficient momentum going into the match against UWC.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper went on to say she wants to keep a clean sheet to ensure that second-placed JVW Ladies do not overthrow them on top of the table.
“I believe we have had a great start to the season. We want to ensure that we retain our lead in the league,” said the Banyana Banyana international.
“Hopefully lead the pack for the whole season as we did in 2019.’’
Dlamini also highlighted the fact that she doesn’t want to put herself under unnecessary pressure as her side are yet to taste a defeat in the SNWL.
However, the log leaders’ chasers JVW Ladies will be hoping for any slip up to put early pressure on the Tshwane-based outfit when they lock horns with Durban Ladies.
