Khanyisa Mayo is the latest player from the second-tier league, GladAfrica Championship to secure a deal with a club in the DStv Premiership ahead of the 2021/22 season.
The 22-year-old striker has sealed a deal with Cape Town City, the club announced on Monday, as reported by FARPost on 17 July (Saturday) that Mayo is on his move to ‘The Citizens’.

“Cape Town City are delighted to announce the signing of South African forward Khanyisa Mayo. Let’s welcome our new Citizen,” reads the club statement.
Mayo has been a consistent performer in the GladAfrica Championship as he was amongst the top goal scorers in the league for the last two seasons.
The promising striker also played an instrumental role in Richards Bay’s fairytale run in the 2021 Nedbank Cup, beating Kaizer Chiefs on their way to the final.
The hitman scored two goals and provided two assists in the Nedbank Cup and walked away with the tournament’s Most Promising Player award for his efforts.
He will be looking to make a strong impression in his debut season in South Africa’s top flight.
