Khama Billiat and Thembinkosi Lorch will be the first to admit that they’ve struggled this season in Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates colours respectively.
The numbers show that Billiat is arguably having his worst season since his debut in the Premier Soccer League back in 2010/11 while with Ajax Cape Town.
Last season, the Zimbabwean international had 11 goals and 10 assists in 38 matches.
This season, however, Billiat has 1 goal and 2 assists in 14 matches and this afternoon’s Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium (15:30) presents him with an opportunity to turn things around.
You cannot afford to write off Billiat in the Soweto Derby based on his poor form this campaign.
Billiat, to his advantage, boasts some good numbers whenever he’s faced Pirates since his PSL debut; 18 games, 7 goals and 9 assists.
Keep that in mind…
Meanwhile, Lorch, below, has also not fared as good as last season.
In the past campaign, Lorch was named the PSL Footballer of the Season, with the winger having netted 15 goals and contributed a further 5 assists in 40 matches.
He has 3 goals and 3 assists in 19 matches this season, which is a disappointing return for a player of his quality.
But then again, Lorch would be buoyed by the fact that he has 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 matches against Chiefs in his career.
