Goals from Peter Shalulile, Divine Lunga and Neo Maema have earned Mamelodi Sundowns a 3-0 win over Golden Arrows in their second leg of the MTN8 semifinal at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Sundowns were in complete control of possession from the start of the first half.
Four minutes into the game, Namibian international Shalulile scored an opener to put Bafana Ba Style in front.
Arrows were presented with a good opportunity to find an equalizer, however, Rayaad Pieterse made a fantastic save to deny Velemseni Ndwandwe immediately from the restart.
The Brazilians continued to look the more threatening side as Thabiso Kutumela first time shot was saved by Sifiso Mlungwana at the near post.
Masandawana made their opponents pay for their profligacy when Lunga added to the scoreline against his former club in the 29th minute.
The game went into the interval with Abafana Bes’thende trailing behind by 2-0.
In second half, Both sides struggled to create any clear chances as the battle in the middle of the park took the centre stage.
The game began to gain more momentum as the half progressed, with Sundowns’ Pavol Safranko firing a shot with his left footed effort creeps just over the crossbar.
The Tshwane-based side had Lehlohonolo Seema’s boys pinned back towards the end of the end match which resulted in a fantastic goal by Maema in the stoppage time.
As a result, the ten-time Premier Soccer League champions have progressed to the MTN8 final with a 4-1 victory on aggregate.
The side will face either Swallows FC or Cape Town City in the finals.
