Sundowns Ladies clinch the SNWL title


Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies thrashed City Coal Wizards 4-1 to win the inaugural Safa National Women’s League (SNWL) at Witbank Rugby Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sundowns win the SNWL with two games to spare.‬

The Brazilians have a 100% record in the Women’s League with 20 wins in their 20 matches.

Sundowns and Banyana Banyana striker Rhoda Muladzi is the current top goal scorer of the SNWL with 34 goals.

‪Downs Ladies are top of the log with 60 points while TUT Ladies are second on 49 points with Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies occupying third position with 40 points.

TUT Ladies cannot mathematically overtake the Brazilians as they can only finish on 57 provided they win all their remaining three games.

The Chloorkop-based side’s last two matches will be against University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) and their Tshwane rivals, TUT.
