Downs now 4 points behind Chiefs

Absa Premiership reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns are now just 4 points behind the log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs.

Sundowns beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday night, courtesy of goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Hlompho Kekana.

Celtic had initially equalised through Ndumiso Mabena, before Kekana’s unstoppable free kick restored Downs’s lead, which they held on to.

Meanwhile, Wits were held to a 2-2 draw by Highlands Park at Bidvest Stadium.

Hashim Domingo and Thulani Hlatshwayo netted for the hosts, while Mothobi Mvala and Peter Shalulie were on the scoresheet for the visitors.
