The future of Tokelo Rantie at Mamelodi Sundowns is in serious doubt after his disappearing act and the club is ready to throw the rule book at him.
Downs coach Pitso Mosimane confirmed at the weekend that Rantie has gone AWOL for the past few weeks.
“Ah Tokelo, I don’t know. You must ask Yogesh (Singh – the club’s general manager), but I haven’t seen him,” said Mosimane.
FARPost has since learnt that the Tshwane side are not only looking at terminating his contract, but to also sue him for breach of contract.
Rantie joined the Brazilians on a three-year deal in September, but he’s yet to make an official appearance in the club’s colours.
Before joining Sundowns, Rantie, who’s now 29, was at Cape Town Cty, where he also failed to play an official match.
In fact, Rantie last played competitively just over two years ago at Turkish club, Genclerbriligi.
Singh and Rantie couldn’t be reached for a comment on Monday.
