Downs will fight for all three trophies – Mshishi

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane says the Brazilians are capable of fighting on all fronts to bring silverware to Chloorkop this season.

While Downs are still in the League race and in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup, where they will face minnows Vaal University of Technology (VUT) later this month, they also have to contend with the CAF Champions League, facing Egypian powerhouse Al Ahly in the quarterfinals, also this month.

Zwane, who’s one of Downs’s key players season in and out, believes the boys are ready to fight for all three trophies.

“Yeah, as a team, we are used to this situation and we know how to deal with it,” Zwane told the media this week.

“We are all focused and we all want to achieve the same goal.

“We prioritise all these three cups, so for us it’s about focus and taking each game as it comes, that’s all,” Zwane added.

Pitso Mosimane’s boys will face Chippa United in a League encounter at Loftus Stadium on Saturday (15:30).
