Downs win puts pressure on Chiefs


Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have beaten Chippa United 3-0 at Loftus Stadium.

The Brazilians are putting pressure on the log leaders Kaizer Chiefs as the race for the title heats up.

Chiefs, who were due to play Maritzburg United on the day, had a seven-point lead at the time of writing.

The Tshwane side took the lead in the first minute through Nicholus Lukhubeni.

In the second half Themba Zwane scored from the penalty spot, before Sibusiso Vilakazi added a third.

In another Absa Premiership clash this afternoon, Highlands Park beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 courtesy of a brace by Peter Shalulile.
