Mamelodi Sundowns have beaten Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 in the Nedbank Cup final at Orlando Stadium to complete a treble in the 2019-20 season.
Gaston Sirino netted a stunner to beat Sipho Chaine to hand the trophy to the Brazilians.
The Uruguayan scored with about ten minutes remaining.
But there was drama in the end…
Sundowns almost fielded the suspended Tebogo Langerman, but soon realised their mistake. Langerman was suspended for the clash.
Even though he didn’t feature in the match, the fact remains that he was part of the matchday squad and he’s therefore considered to have participated in the match, according to the NSL rules.
Downs, ultimately, may be denied the treble after also winning the League and Telkom Knockout.
Celtic have since protested and as this story develops, FARPost will bring you all the updates.
