As the DStv Premiership is set to return this weekend after the international break, there are five players who will miss out on the action due to suspensions.
In a statement released by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) on their socials, the following players are suspended for this weekend encounters:
- Tebogo Matome Makobela (Black Leopards),
- Divine Xolile Lunga (Golden Arrows),
- Erick Mathoho (Kaizer Chiefs),
- Riyaaz Ismail (Maritzburg United), and
- Sibusiso Hlubi (Maritzburg United).
Tebogo Makobela was red-carded in the 72nd minute in their PSL encounter against Baroka FC on the 27th of October 2020, as Bakgaga thrashed Lidoda Duvha 3-1 in the Limpopo Derby.
Divine Lunga of Lamontville Golden Arrows was sent off in the 68th minute of the match after receiving two yellow cards in their DStv Premiership clash against Baroka FC on the 4th of November 2020. The game ended in a 1-all draw.
Kaizer Chiefs defender Erick Mathoho was sent off to an early shower in their MTN8 second leg semifinal against Orlando Pirates on the 8th of November 2020. The Sea Robbers got the better of the struggling Amakhosi 2-0, winning the semifinals 5-0 on aggregate.
Riyaaz Ismail of Maritzburg United was red-carded in their league game against Cape Town City in the 44th minute just before halftime on the 28th of October 2020 at Harry Gwala Stadium. The Citizens secured a slender 1-0 win on the day.
Another Maritzburg player who has been ruled out due to suspension is Sibusiso Hlubi. He was sent off on the 75th minute against the Chilli Boys on the 3rd of November 2020 in their DStv Premiership encounter. Chippa United hammered the Blue Army 3-1, thanks to Bienvenu Eva Nga’s hat-trick.
