Durban Ladies won their second Hollywoodbets Super League match in as many games, when they walloped Ma-Indies FC 5-1 at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts, who went to the match as underdogs after some string of poor results, opened the scoring earlier in the game through resurrected match hero Amanda Mkhize after some good interplay in the middle of the park.
Suddenly the host grew in confidence and started playing an offensive game and dominated ball possession.
Their positivity was rewarded as they scored a well-worked goal before the hour mark. Silindile Ngubane found the back of the net from a defence-spliting pass, after rounding off the goalkeeper.
Eventually it was 3-0 as Mkhize pounced from a loss ball and beat the hapless Ma-Indies shot stopper.
The game went to half time with the home team leading 3-0, while the visitors were showing signs of despair.
In the second half Ma-Indies FC coach Rhulani Mathebula made two substitutions trying to get back into the game, bringing on Kamogelo Nakana and Morole Thete for Vuyokazi Xala and Tshwarelo Digauta.
It was the hosts who managed to find the back of the net in transition, as the visitors pushed forward in search of an elusive goal.
Mkhize chased from a clearance and managed to beat two defenders and volleyed the ball past Theledi Monnye to complete her hattrick.
Soon it was 5-0 as Mkhize connected from a cross on the right, tapping in from close range.
The visitors found a consolation goal in the last five minutes of the match after an excellent passing game ocherstrated by Nakana.
It ended 5-1 in favor of the home team, with a confidence booster victory ahead of their next encounter as they look to move away from the relegation zone.
