Egypt and Al Ahly legend Hossam Hassan has lavished Pitso Mosimane with praise, describing the South African tactician as a “coach of a high level.”
Since joining Al Ahly, Mosimane has enjoyed a great deal of success, winning the treble last season, which included a historic Caf Champions League title over Zamalek.
Mosimane has won 11 games out of 12 with the Cairo giants, drawing the other one against Pyramids.
Hassan, who is Al Ahly’s all-time top scorer alongside Mahmoud El-Khatib, has hailed the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana coach, saying he is a hard-working mentor.
“A coach of a high level. Al Ahly and Zamalek make history for foreign coaches. Pitso Mosimane strives, but everything is made available for him,” said Hassan.
“Winning titles with Al Ahly is because of his diligence, but the known ‘Al Ahly football’ is yet to be seen with Pitso.
“I previously said the fact that both Al Ahly and Zamalek reached the CAF Champions League is a great success.
“Who won the title? One team will win the title, the tournament is valuable to Al Ahly in all respects and this is a great history and the two teams are winners.
“Zamalek lost the title, but they deserved it like Al Ahly, but in the end, the most hard-working team and the one who took advantage of the chances won. Congratulations to Al Ahly,” he concluded.
