Al Ahly have joined world football controlling body FIFA in congratulating Mamelodi Sundowns for winning the treble in the 2019/20 campaign.
Masandawana edged Kaizer Chiefs to the PSL title, adding the coveted trophy to their Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup triumphs.
Al Ahly are familiar foes to the Brazilians, with the two sides having battled against each other on numerous occasions in the CAF Champions League and now Africa’s most successful club has commended Sundowns for their displays.
Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib sent through a message to the Tshwane side.
Meanwhile, FIFA president Gianni Infantino was also on hand recently to congratulate coach Pitso Mosimane and his team for a sterling job in winning their 10th PSL title, dubbed the ‘La Decima’, which is number 10 in Spanish.
The 2016 CAF Champions League winners have continued to dominate South African football under the tutelage of “Jingles”, who penned fresh terms to extend his stay by a further 4 years at the club during the break enforced by Covid-19.
