Elshaddai United has sold their Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League status to Thembela Mankayi.
United will now be known as Destiny College FC in the South African football third-tier.
Destiny College is a reputable and renowned private college situated in Burnside in Mpumalanga province. However, the club will be based in the heart of Mbombela city.
Petrus ‘Piet’ Chauke will lead the team as the head coach ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, the side will be playing their games at Kabokweni Stadium and Mbombela Stadium with outside fields as alternative home ground.
“The bigger goal of the club is to create a springboard for talented young boys to showcase their talent and as such, plans are in place to establish a soccer academy for young boys who will be enrolled into the senior team,” said the club’s marketing and team manager, Sibusiso Mhlanga.
“The main focus of this project is football, the school itself focuses on all sporting codes.
“My aim is to see the team being promoted to higher ranks as well as grooming young boys who will play in some of South Africa’s biggest football showcases,” concludes Mhlanga.
