England manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden have been released from camp after they breached UEFA’s coronavirus protocols while at their team hotel.
The pair was kicked out of the team hotel and will miss the match against Denmark on Tuesday.
It is alleged that Greenwood and Foden have been caught bringing girls back to England’s team hotel in Reykjavik, Iceland.
“Unfortunately this morning it was brought to my attention that the two boys have broken the COVID guidelines in terms of our secure bubble,” confirmed Southgate.
“We had to decide very quickly that they could not have any interaction with the team, wouldn’t be able to train.
“Given the procedures we have to follow now, they have to travel back to England separately.”
Both players made the full international debuts in Saturday’s 1-0 Nations League over Iceland.
