The MTN Premier League in Eswatini is set to return next week Friday with a bumper fixture across six venues.
This follows the unbanning of football by the government last Thursday for at least at Premier League and National First Division.
The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) released a detailed fixture going up to game 12 of the campaign. The league will enter week three next Friday after it was brought to a halt last December, just two games in.
Defending champions Young Buffaloes and Royal Leopard headline the Good Friday batch of matches, with Manzini Wanderers travelling east to visit Mhlume Peacemakers, while Mbabane Highlanders welcome rookies Tinyosi.
PLE Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati announced at a briefing at Sigwaca House that the organisation has been granted permission by the football mother body, to use upcoming FIFA international weeks as they try to wrap up the delayed 2020/2021 season. “Averagely, a team will play three games in seven days in the schedule and in the case of national team assignments, only teams with three or more players representing the country will be excused,” he said.
The MTN NFD will resume next Saturday and it is anticipated that by that time, the EFA Appeals Board would have sorted the pending matter on the Shiselweni representative in the league between Amalanda and Nsingizini Hotspurs.
