‘Sihlangu Semnikati’ national team players will each get E3 000 (R2 985) for every win in the ongoing COSAFA Cup taking place in Gqeberha.
The 3-1 win over Lesotho on Tuesday have earned the players E66 000 (R65 680) winning bonuses. Each of the 22 players will receive E3 000 allowances after they successfully ended the country’s four-year winless streak at the regional showpiece.
This means they will take in E12 000 (R11 941) each if they win all their group matches.
“The players will certainly get their bonuses at the end of the COSAFA Cup. The monies could increase if they continue winning more games in the tournament. For now, they are entitled to E66 000 to share as they have already beaten Lesotho,” a source told SwaziObsever.
Eswatini Football Association Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe told the same publication that allowances were regulated.
“All allowances for national team players are regulated and known to the players.”
The Dominic Kunene-led side lost 1-0 to Bafana Bafana on Thursday and will still play against Zambia and Botswana in the remaining Group A fixtures.
