Eswatini Premiership takes big step towards return of fans

The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) have announced the official launch of the covid-19 vaccination drive aimed at fast-tracking the full participation of the football fraternity.

The launch will take place today at Mavuso Sports Centre.

This was revealed by the organisation executive member Charles Matsebula during a press conference at Sigwaca House this week.

“We really need spectators as they boost the sport since football gather 15 000 people within the various venues per weekend,” said Matsebula.

The campaign comes after the recent announcement by Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi that spectators would be allowed back to stadiums if the vaccination programme covers 60 per cent of the population.

Football supporters have been barred from watching the game of football since the pandemic first surfaces in March 2020.
